Speaker Bios:
Ken Bryson is a magna cum laude graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Georgia licensed architect since 1977, Ken has extensive experience in planning, design and construction administration of a wide range of projects including office, warehousing, retail, hospitality, and convention facilities. For the past twelve years Ken has served as a project officer and project manager in the buildings, facilities and asset management offices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, where he has been responsible for the development and management of numerous projects associated with repairs and improvements on CDC’s various campuses. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the American Institute of Architects, as well as a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) where he served as president from June 2013 to June 2014.
Ken Stephenson received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Georgia Tech and became a registered architect in 1976. He worked with several architecture and interior design firms in the Atlanta area and gained valuable insight into the planning, design, construction and occupancy activities that go into creating the built environment. Ken realized that he wanted to be involved in the total life cycle of facilities. In 1991, he joined the Facility Management organization of the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
In 2007, he a earned a Master of Science Degree in Facility Management and Building Construction from Georgia Tech while continuing to work with the CDC as a Project Officer and Team Leader. He has been responsible for planning, design, construction, furnishing and operations and maintenance aspects of CDC’s facilities. Ken is a Certified Facility Manager and a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). He has served as Education Chair, Vice President of Professional Development and as the Chair Person of the newly formed Accredited Degree Program Liaison Committee to work with the Facility Management Programs at Southern Polytechnic State University and Georgia Tech.
